Hosted by the Maxwell School in 2024, CESS conferences have been held at universities around North America and Central Eurasia since 2000. They offer up to 70 panels and attract around 400 participants from all over the world. The conference, a staple event since 2000, has been a platform for scholars from North America and Central Eurasia to converge and share their insights. CESS President Ablet Kamalov (Turan University) and CESS Past President Jeff Sahadeo (Carleton University) are playing a key part in organizing the conferences this year. CESS Fall 2024 promises a broad reach, inviting scholars to contribute across all humanities and social science disciplines concerning Central Eurasia.
At the CESS Fall 2024 conference, Dobrosphera presented an overview of the non-profit sector in Kyrgyzstan, highlighting its role in promoting sustainable development, human rights, and cultural heritage. The presentation highlighted key NGOs, their initiatives in the field of ecology, education, and inclusion. Dobrosphera emphasized creative communication methods, visual storytelling, and the importance of cooperation between civil society, youth, and international partners. The presenters' team included Green Alliance of Kyrgyzstan and KEU members.
Following the presentation at CESS Fall 2024, the Dobrosphera took part in an event dedicated to discussing the COP29 agenda. The roundtable brought together activists, researchers, and NGO representatives. We discussed international climate priorities, the role of culture in adaptation, and proposed ideas for youth to participate in the global climate dialogue.
