RCOY Central Asia and Afghanistan 2023 became an important platform for youth climate leaders in the region, bringing together participants from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan. The conference provided an opportunity for young activists to discuss challenges related to climate change, water scarcity, land degradation, and vulnerability of mountain ecosystems. Participants presented local initiatives, held workshops, and prepared a youth declaration with priorities for COP29. Particular attention was paid to climate education, gender equality, and the involvement of indigenous peoples. RCOY 2023 marked a significant step towards strengthening regional cooperation and amplifying the voice of youth from Central Asia and Afghanistan in the international climate arena.
In 2023, the RCOY Central Asia and Afghanistan Dobrosphera team organized a side event to present the voice of the region's youth on the international climate platform.
