The Bishkek Concepton by Birtops was inspired by the idea of combining traditional nomadic worldview with contemporary forms of sustainable art. “Birtops” is a symbol of the meeting of winds, ideas, and cultures, a crossroads where new meanings are born. The program included works by Kyrgyz artists, artisans, and environmental activists exploring the relationship between nature, corporeality, and climate.
The topic of Concepton in July 2024 focused on socially impactful projects, highlighting initiatives that blend creativity with community empowerment. Participants explored how art, design, and storytelling can drive positive change, address social inequalities, and foster resilience. The event emphasized collaboration, empathy, and sustainable solutions rooted in local contexts.
The Taza Taigan project was born from the shared vision of five passionate individuals committed to environmental awareness, cultural heritage, and creative activism. Coming from different backgrounds—art, ecology, design, and community work—we united around the idea of creating something that connects people with nature through storytelling and symbolism.
Inspired by the image of the taigan, the noble Kyrgyz hunting dog, we saw it as a metaphor for guardianship and harmony with the land. Together, we co-designed the concept, developed workshops, and crafted visuals that reflect both tradition and innovation. Taza Taigan became a space for dialogue, reflection, and collective action.
